Vijayanta Schools Alumni Association - Avadi ("we", "us", or "our") operates the VSA3P mobile application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App.

1. Information Collection and Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our service to you:

• Personal Data: While using our App, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you, including your name, email address, phone number, and batch year.
• Device Data: We may collect information about your mobile device, including unique device identifiers, IP address, and operating system for app performance monitoring.
• Media: If you upload images to the Community Feed or profile, we access your device’s camera and photo library with your explicit permission.

2. Data Safety & Permissions

The VSA3P app requires the following permissions to function correctly:

• Camera/Gallery: To allow alumni to share memories and update profile pictures.
• Notifications: To keep you updated on Reunions and Alumni news.
• Internet: To sync your data with our secure Firebase backend.

3. Use of Data

We use the collected data to:

• Maintain the Alumni Directory.
• Verify your status as a student/alumnus of VSSS or VMHSS.
• Notify you about upcoming events and notices.
• Provide community support and respond to inquiries.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies due to the following reasons:

• Google Play Services: Used for app distribution and analytics.
• Firebase: Used for secure authentication and database management.

These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

5. Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

Account & Data Deletion

In compliance with Google Play's Data Safety policies, VSA3P provides a straightforward way for users to delete their accounts and associated personal data.

Data Retention & Removal:

• Deleted Data: Upon account deletion, your profile information (Name, Email, Phone), Batch details, and private association records in our MySQL database are permanently purged.
• Media: Any photos uploaded to the community feed or profile pictures are deleted from our storage.
• Retention Period: Deletion requests are processed immediately. Once confirmed, your data cannot be recovered. We do not retain any user data after an account is deleted.
